NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Interstate 40 East has reopened in Nashville after crews responded to a diesel spill early Sunday morning.

The spill occurred at mile marker 210 around 4:45 a.m. after a tractor trailer caught on fire.

While there were no injuries, the interstate was shut down for nearly eight hours.

Police said a large amount of diesel fuel spilled onto the roadway.

The roadway remained dusty, causing some delays.

Authorities urged drivers to use extra caution.
