NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Traffic was impacted at a busy south Nashville intersection Thursday afternoon following a crash involving a dump trunk that resulted in a fuel spill.
The wreck was reported around 11:40 a.m. at the intersection of Hermitage and Fairfield avenues.
Police said a car failed to stop at the red light and collided with the dump truck.
The impact ruptured the truck's fuel tank, spilling about 80 gallons of diesel fuel onto the roadway.
Crews responded to the scene and sand was used to help cleanup the spill.
Traffic was impacted through the afternoon.
The scene has since been cleared.
