The new GFS & ECMWF model runs today both sped up the movement of the strong cold front expected to move in after a mild December weekend.
They both now agree on the front approaching Sunday night and passing through early Monday morning.
This means strong to severe storms could occur Sunday night-early Monday.
Although there could be scattered storms both Saturday and Sunday, the possibility for severe weather would be out ahead of the front..
One good thing is that overnight storms don't get the warmer daytime temperatures to work with, BUT wind dynamics could be strong enough to produce severe storms anyway.
Another twist is that in the very cold air plunging in on Monday, there could be a few flurries in our northeastern counties Monday PM.
