Convicted burglar charged in Antioch Dollar General break-in

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A convicted burglar is in police custody following a break-in Wednesday morning at an Antioch dollar store.

The burglary occurred around 4 a.m. at the Dollar General located in the 1400 block of Bell Road, west of Interstate 24.

Investigators said the thief, Arthur Vaughan, 56, cut a hole into the side of the building to gain access.

After approximately 20 minutes, Vaughan walked out the back door of the business and was taken into custody.

He had taken electronic items such as CD players, cell phones and batteries.  He also had numerous bags of food items including ice cream and beef jerky in the trunk of his car.

Vaughan was charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools and drug paraphernalia, and vandalism.

He is being held in the Metro jail in lieu of $22,000 bond.
