Caregiver faces animal cruelty charges

Clarksville police have issued a warrant against a 24-year-old woman after several animals were discovered abandoned in a home without food or water.

According to police, they were called to a home on Justin Douglas Court where officers discovered the three dogs and a cat that appeared to be emaciated.

Officers also found a dog deceased on the property.

While at the home, officers said the pets' caregiver, Victoria Stover-Lancaster, arrived at the residence.

Stover-Lancaster reported to authorities she had been caring for the animals since mid-November while the homeowner was out of town.

She also said that she had been feeding the animals daily but had missed three or four days.

Warrants have been taken out for Stover-Lancaster for animal cruelty. She has yet to surrender to police.
