NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

The Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt received a $25,000 donation Tuesday from a group of local car dealers.

The money was raised through Chevrolet's "Equinox for Tots" program.

Customers were invited to test drive the new Chevy Equinox.

Each test drive provided $50 toward Tuesday's donation, and an entry to win an Equinox.

Dealer Richard Lyons says it was easy to choose the hospital as the recipient.

"The children's hospital is just fantastic. We're so lucky to have Vanderbilt hospital in this area and the children's hospital has done do much good for so many," he told Nashville's News 2.

Megan Nichols, the contest winner, was also presented with her new Chevrolet Equinox Tuesday.

The vehicle was built at General Motors' plant in Spring Hill.
