The tree lot of Boy Scout Troop 87 has set up shop at Belle Meade United Methodist Church on Davidson Road for the 57th year.
For this troop, the tree lot is crucial.
"It helps fund their summer camp and any of their high adventure trips in the summer, and any of their incidental costs we have throughout the year," said troop leader Richards Hill.
While tree sales are their only major fundraiser, the benefits go far beyond the profit.
"Interacting with adults, it helps build their character on that end and they also learn something about the value of money. This is their tree lot and how they do determines what they're going to be able to do next year," Hill continued.
The boy scouts are responsible for running the business.
The tree lot is open seven days a week until Christmas.
