NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
The Ryman Auditorium stepped into a starring role on the TV show "Nashville" Wednesday night.
In the episode, rivals Rayna James and Juliette Barnes sang their first duet at the Mother Church of Country Music.
Lisaann Dupont, communications manager for the Ryman, told Nashville's News 2 the show filmed at the venue several weeks ago and shot scenes on stage, from the balcony and in the hatch gallery.
While it's tough to see the economic impact just yet, Dupont said they had a "ton" of mentions on Twitter during the show and in the hours after, and several new followers.
Like others in the city of Nashville, Dupont hopes viewers of the show turn into actual visitors of Music City.
She said, "I think the out of town viewers are becoming increasing more interested in coming [to Nashville] and discovering Nashville, which is exciting and I hope they come see us."
ABC's "Nashville" airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on Nashville's News 2.
