NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
A suspect was injured after jumping from his vehicle during a police pursuit early Tuesday morning.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said preliminary information indicates a trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle for possible impaired driving on White Bridge Road shortly before 6 a.m.
The vehicle did not pull over and a pursuit ensued.
The suspect crashed when he attempted to turn onto Gwynnwood Drive from Ewing Drive. He reportedly jumped from the vehicle and ran.
Metro police captured him a short distance away in the woods.
He was transported to Nashville General Hospital at Meharry to be treated for minor injuries.
No further details were immediately released.
