Mt. Juliet breaks ground on new fire station

MT. JULIET, Tenn. -

Officials broke ground on a new fire station in Mt. Juliet on Monday.

The station will be located on Belinda Parkway and Athens Drive, near the Providence Marketplace shopping center.

City officials said they hope to have a new fire chief in place by January and the new fire department completed by July of 2013.

Since 1986 the city of Mt. Juliet, which is made up of 25,000 residents, has relied on and been protected by the Wilson County Emergency Management Agency.
