Teen dies after being shot in head, brother charged

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -
Clarksville police said a 15-year-old teen that was shot in the head by his older brother early Wednesday morning has died from his injuries.
Police said the shooting victim passed around 7 p.m. at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Brian Smith was taken into police custody following the shooting which occurred at a home on Vista Lane around 5 a.m.
During a police investigation, the 23-year-old victim initially said he saw two men running from the home as he was walking up the street after shots were fired.
Police determined the information Smith provided was false and misleading.
Authorities later learned Smith was inside the residence with several other people at the time and that he was handling the weapon when he pointed the firearm at his teenage brother's head before it discharged.
Smith admitted to shooting his brother and said he told someone to get rid of the gun.
Officers located three firearms in the interior and exterior areas of the home.
Smith was booked into the Montgomery County jail without bond.
