Murfreesboro driver airlifted to Vandy after single car crash

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -

Murfreesboro police said a driver was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville following a single car accident Friday afternoon.

The accident was reported around 1 p.m. at the intersection of New Salem Highway and Middle Tennessee Boulevard.

Police said the driver lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree on the side of the roadway.

The driver's identity or condition was not immediately released.

No additional information was released.
