NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
New York Mets start and Nashville native R.A. Dickey won the National League Cy Young Award Wednesday.
Dickey is the first knuckleballer ever to win the award.
The award culminates an amazing comebacker for the former Tennessee Vol who was almost out of baseball after suffering a serious arm injury.
Dickey won 20 games this season and struck out 230 hitters for the Mets. He also threw five complete games.
