DUI offender arrested in connection to fatal hit-and-run
Charles Towns, 49, is being held in lieu of $7,500.

Metro police arrested a 49-year-old man on Tuesday afternoon in connection to last Thursday's fatal hit-and-run accident on Old Hickory Boulevard in south Nashville.
Charles Towns, who was convicted of DUI in July 2011, is charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident involving death and driving on a revoked license.
Police previously reported Calvin Thomas was crossing Old Hickory Boulevard near Woodlands Avenue just after 7:30 p.m. Thursday when he was struck by Towns who was driving a white pickup truck at the time.
Officers located the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado in the parking lot of Iroquois Apartments located at 111 Old Hickory Boulevard in west Nashville the following day and discovered the truck was registered to Towns.
Towns agreed to meet with officers on Tuesday afternoon, but declined to answer any questions after he was given his rights.
