Trey Welch, 21, is charged with two counts each of sexual battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -
A former jailer with the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office was arrested Monday for alleged inappropriate conduct with two middle school aged girls.
According to the Murfreesboro Police Department arrest report, Trey Welch, 21, picked up the juveniles after they left school early on November 2.
He took their girls back to his South Rutherford Boulevard apartment where, in his bedroom, he took the girls' bras off and massaged their backs.
He also touched their breasts and put his hands down their pants, the report stated.
Investigators also found Welch also purchased cigarettes for girls and offered to give money to one of them so she could buy marijuana.
Welch was charged with two counts each of sexual battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was booked into the Rutherford County jail on a $7,000 bond.
A January court date has been set.
Rutherford County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Lisa Marchesoni said Welch resigned before his arrest.
According to his Facebook page, Welch began working as a deputy sheriff at the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office in October of 2010.
