Metro police tracked down a suspected drunk driver after he crashed into a utility in Donelson early Tuesday morning.
The incident happened just before 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Lebanon and Stewarts Ferry pikes.
The driver hit the pole, causing it to fall across the roadway. He fled the vehicle immediately following the crash.
When police responded to the scene, they found the wrecked car abandoned.
Upon a brief investigation, police were able to track the driver to the Riverstone Condominiums, a short distance away from the crash site.
The driver was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries and to undergo a toxicology test.
No charges were immediately filed.
Lebanon Pike was shutdown while crews worked to upright the pole.
There were no reported power outages in the area.
