Maury County principal placed on leave amid investigation

MAURY COUNTY, Tenn. -

A Maury County elementary school principal has been placed on administrative leave while an investigation is conducted.

According to a report in the Columbia Daily Herald, Principal Jerry Harrison of Marvin Wright Elementary School was placed on leave on Monday.

The newspaper reported authorities are conducting an investigation into possible criminal activity involving Harrison.

Harrison has served as the elementary school's principal since 2008.

He also previously worked as an assistant principal at Mt. Pleasant Elementary and was a teacher for 15 years at Spring Hill High School.

Currently Harrison does not face any charges.
