NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Several crashes slowed the morning commute for thousands of drivers Monday morning and wet roads were likely to blame.
A 4:30 a.m., a crash involving several vehicles occurred on Interstate 40 near the Interstate 65 split just south of downtown.
Eastbound traffic was blocked for about an hour while crews cleared the wreck.
An hour later, a crash on I-40 East at mile marker 212 near the Fesslers Lane exit slowed traffic.
Another accident was reported north of town, on I-65 South near mile marker 90.
All the accidents have since been cleared.
Drivers are reminded to use extra caution when the conditions are wet and slick.
