CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

A Kentucky mother was arrested Thursday in Clarksville for driving under the influence of prescription medication.

Kellie Cottotorres, 34, was taken into custody after she struck a utility pole and then rear-ended a driver stopped at a red light at the intersection of Madison Street and Liberty Parkway.

Responding officers reported Cottotorres had slurred speech and appeared to be disoriented, but there was no indication of alcohol usage.

Cottotorres was administered field sobriety tests and did not satisfactorily complete the tests.

She was charged with DUI, reckless and endangerment and following too closely.  She was booked into the Montgomery County jail on a $1,750 bond.

Police said Cottotorres had her five-year-old daughter in the car with her at the time.  The little girl was uninjured and turned over to a friend.
