HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. -

An employee at the Sam's Club on Indian Lake Boulevard in Hendersonville is charged with stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise from the store over a period of time.

Roger Ryan, 39, was arrested at his Gallatin apartment Wednesday and charged with theft over $10,000.

Police confiscated flat screen televisions, DVD players, iPhones and iPads. The items are currently being stored in a locked holding cell while authorities continue their investigation.

Police said the investigation continues to determine the scope of the theft and believes more than $50,000 worth of merchandise could have been stolen.

"We know as of last night, 10 days of video was reviewed, and it appears it has been going on each of those 10 days and we suspect it has been going on longer," Lt. Scott Ryan said.

Roger Ryan has been employed with the retailer for since February of this year.

Police said they credit Sam's Club Loss Prevention for identifying the thefts.

Anyone with additional information is urged to call Hendersonville police at 615-264-5303 or Crime Stoppers at 615-573-5400.
