MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -
At least eight residents of a Murfreesboro apartment complex are displaced Monday night after a fire broke out.
The fire at Poplar Village Apartments located in the 1400 block of Poplar Avenue was reported just after 5:30 p.m.
Officials told Nashville's News 2 at least two units in Building L received extensive fire damage, while four others received smoke damage.
Crews are expected to remain on the scene watching for hotspots.
One resident was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The apartment complex, as well as the American Red Cross is working to provide assistance to the displaced residents.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known, but appears to be accidental.
