Shooting at Clarksville club leaves 1 man dead

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

Clarksville police are investigating a shooting that ended with one man dying outside of a club in Clarksville.

The shooting happened overnight Friday after a fight escalated at C-Ray's Social Club on Ft. Campbell Boulevard.

When Clarksville police arrived, police found a 20-year-old man laying on a wooden ramp outside the building. Police found the man with gunshot wounds and immediately transported him to the hospital.

The victim was pronounced dead shortly after 4 a.m. Saturday at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital.

Police told Nashville's News 2 the witnesses were slow to cooperate during the preliminary investigation of the scene. Police did however determine there were several people fighting inside the club before shots were fired.

Only one other person was injured in the shooting.
