Murfreesboro stabbing leads to attempted murder charge


A homeless man has been arrested for attempted first degree murder after stabbing a man several times.

Anthony Dixon, 43, engaged in a verbal altercation with Tommy Padregas, 40, on Medical Center Parkway in Murfreesboro on October 18.

Police reported that Dixon then got out of his car and proceeded to stab Padregas several times in the abdomen and hand.

Once police arrived at the scene, Dixon had fled to a nearby Kmart.

He was later located and taken into custody without incident.

The Murfreesboro Police Department said that Padregas sustained life threatening injuries from the assault.

Dixon was charged with attempted first degree murder.
