A two-year-old boy is safe after he was found wandering alone in the street in Clarksville. Grettel Ash spotted the child, wearing only a diaper, in the middle of Stephanie Drive on Tuesday around Noon."I did have to swerve to miss the child because he was in the middle of the street and being so little I didn't see him until I was right there up on him," said Ash.Ash took the child to a nearby fire department and called police. "He was cold. He wasn't really scared. He came to me even though I've never seen the baby before a day in my life," said Ash.The child's mother, 27-year-old Tabitha Tamayo, was cited for contributing to dependency and neglect.Police told Nashville's News 2 Tamayo fell asleep and the child wandered out of the apartment by himself.The Tennessee Department of Children's Services was contacted.The child has since been placed back in his mother's custody.
