Freeze warning in effect for much of Middle Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for much of Middle Tennessee.

The warning remains in effect from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. Wednesday for Bedford, Cheatham, Davidson, Rutherford and Williamson counties among others.

Winds are expected to reach 20 to 30 miles-per-hour, while temperatures will drop to around 35 degrees overnight.

Officials warn any vegetation left outdoors overnight will likely sustain damage.

On Wednesday, temperatures are expected to be near 60.
