GALLATIN, Tenn. -

A derogatory bumper sticker placed on the window of the Democratic headquarters in Sumner County shall remain right where it is as a symbol, so says the vice chairman of the Sumner County Democratic Party, Maria Brewer.

The bumper sticker was discovered by campaign workers on Monday and reads, "The bro and his ho gotta go."

Gallatin police are investigating although they have no suspects.  Officers have also stepped up patrols in the area.

"I saw it and I thought it was offensive," Brewer told Nashville's News 2 Investigates. "It is a racial slur about the president and his wife, especially disturbing. I don't think politicians should have to worry about their families being attacked, especially for the color of their skin."

She added, "It's a slur against women as well as African Americans."

"It is disgusting," supporter Tiffany Rivera added while picking up an Obama yard sign Tuesday.  "I don't condone that. Democrat or Republican it is disgusting."

In a statement, Adam Nickas, Executive Director of the Tennessee Republican Party, said, "We are confident that we will make President Obama a one-term president based on his lack of leadership on the economy. We are focused on holding the President accountable for his dismal economic record, and we hope the Democrats agree that there is no place for juvenile behavior in this process."

Brewer says they plan to leave the bumper sticker on the window through the election so residents "see the attitudes that are out there."

She added some of their Facebook followers have indicated they saw a similar bumper sticker on gas pumps in Hendersonville.

The democratic headquarters in Sumner County is having a potluck dinner Friday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
