2 Hendersonville apartment units destroyed by blaze

Two units at a Hendersonville apartment complex were destroyed after a blaze broke out Monday afternoon.

Authorities said the fire erupted around 1 p.m. at the Lake D'Ville apartments located in the 100 block of Hickory Heights Drive.

Police Chief Jamie Steele said no residents were at home when the fire sparked.

Crews are expected to remain on the scene extinguishing hot spots.

Officials believe a discarded cigarette may have triggered the fire.

The fire remains under investigation.

No additional information was released.
