Springfield High School was among more than 80 Tennessee schools who received a grant from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission on Friday morning.
Robertson County will match the $534,885 grant that will be distributed over the next seven years.
The Gear Up grant will help provide college access and success-focused services to area students.
Students in the Class of 2018, who are currently in the seventh grade, will receive services as a cohort through middle school, high school and their first year of postsecondary education.
Seniors at Springfield High School will also receive direct services to prepare for college and apply to postsecondary programs. Those services include one-on-one mentoring, tutoring, college visits, as well as financial aid counseling.
