In the last entry we mentioned that a tropical system may be off the eastern seaboard this weekend when our anticipated strong front has pushed through.
Tropical Storm Sandy formed yesterday and has intensified to a Category 1 Hurricane as it pushes over Jamaica.
Though it will probably downgrade back to a tropical storm, it will still be a deep low pressure system as it pushes northward.
That low pressure off the east coast will increase the pressure gradient with the strong Canadian high that will be pushing in.
This will result in stronger northerly winds in Middle TN, and more cold air coming down from Canada.
Weekend high temperatures will be in the 50s with winds gusting 20-30 mph. BRRRR!
I still think that many areas (possibly even officially at the airport) could see their first freeze by Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday morning of next week (or all three!).
