Developers are moving forward with plans to create a mixed use town center at the intersection of Maryland Way and Franklin Road, south of Old Hickory Boulevard in Brentwood.
The proposed development would include just over 970,000 square feet of residential, office and retail/restaurant space, a theater and a hotel.
H.G. Hill Realty Company and GBT Realty Corporation, which formed a joint venture in February 2011 to purchase the Murray Ohio headquarters located at 219 Franklin Road, is currently under contract to purchase the Tennessee Baptist Convention property at 5001 Maryland Way.
The two properties combined would make up the town center.

"This will be a game changer in that it provides a true work, shop, eat, stay, and play environment all in one walkable location."
A public information meeting is planned for October 29 at 6 p.m. at the Tennessee Baptist Convention.
A zoning change request to allow the development will be heard at the city commission meeting on November 12.
