CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

A Clarksville man faces charges for stabbing his roommate several times with a box cutter.

Police said the stabbing occurred during the early morning hours Saturday after Derrick Lacour, 33, got into an argument with his girlfriend and their roommate, 33-year-old Jerimie Speck, intervened.

During the altercation, Lacour pulled a box cutter out of his pocket and stabbed Speck approximately six times in the back and neck area.

Speck was taken by ambulance to Gateway Medical Center and then was transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville where he was treated and released.

Lacour suffered an unknown medical issue and was also transported to Gateway Medical Center.

He faces charges of aggravated assault and will be booked into the Montgomery County jail when he is released.

Police said Lacour has a lengthy criminal history involving traffic offenses and assault.
