Orionid Meteor Showers Tonight! - WKRN, Nashville News, Nashville Weather and Sports

The Earth is passing through the debris trail left by Hallley's comet right now.  This causes a meteor shower called The Orionid Meteor Shower or "The Orionids".

It will be best after midnight, but you could see them any time after dark, and you may want to go to Warner Park Nature Center where experts will point out where to look and also have telescopes on hand to look at lots of celestial objects, like a spectacular looking Jupiter.

Coincidentally, the "Taurids" are starting up, as well, so you may see meteors from two different showers.
