Convicted sex offender arrested after cutting off GPS device

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Tenn. -

A man convicted of attempted child rape and listed on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's "Most Wanted" list was taken into custody Friday morning.

Twenty-two-year-old Jason Holt went missing October 6 after he allegedly cut off his GPS monitoring device and fled with his wife, Sarah Holt.

A Franklin County sheriff's officer apprehended Holt Friday and transported him to the county line. He was then released to the Coffee County Sheriff's Office.

Holt faces numerous charges, including violation of sex offender registration and intentionally tampering with or removing a GPS Device. 

Sarah Holt was charged with facilitating the escape of a felon and booked into the Coffee County jail on a $5,000 bond.

Jason Holt is being held in the Coffee County jail on a $1 million bond.

He is expected to appear in court October 29.
