3 jailed for passing counterfeit money at Clarksville club
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Clarksville police arrested three men early Thursday morning for passing counterfeit money at a nightclub.
Officers were called to a club in the 1900 block of Ft. Campbell Boulevard around 12:30 a.m. after security spotted them flashing a large amount of cash and taking pictures of it.
Through further investigation officers learned one of the men, James Jackson, had purchased drinks using counterfeit $20 bills.
Jackson also had a large amount of $20 and $50 bills in his possession. All were counterfeit.
At first, Jackson resisted officers' attempts to take him in custody. He was eventually arrested on charges of criminal simulation, possession of synthetic drugs and vandalism for putting out a lit cigarette on the carpet during an interview with detectives.
Two others, Michael Long and Keith Warner, were taken in custody and also charged with criminal simulation.
Police said a total of $1,000 in counterfeit money was seized.
