CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -
Police at Austin Peay State University say they do not believe a student was raped in a campus dorm room after all.
Authorities spent all day Thursday investigating the report of a rape in Blount Hall.
The victim told police the incident happened late Tuesday night or during the early morning hours on Wednesday.
Students were alerted of the rape and told to exercise extra vigilance on campus through text message and email at 9 a.m. Thursday. A description of the alleged suspect was also included in the alert.
Several hours later campus officials said they did not believe the rape took place and the allegations were false.
