A Metro school bus driver was among three people arrested last week on felony drug and weapons charges following a raid at a home in west Nashville.

Heather Thompson has been driving a Metro school bus for the last two years.  School officials say her routes include Pearl Cohn High and Park Avenue Elementary schools.

Last Friday, officers conducted an undercover drug buy at Thompson's Robertson Avenue home, reportedly purchasing four oxycodone pills for $100 from Randy Lening, who also lives in the house.

During a later search of the home, officers found a number of pills under Thompson's bed including hydrocodone.

Officers also found a loaded 12-gauge shotgun, a bong and a marijuana grinder.

According to arrest affidavits, Thompson stated she had sold pills in the past and a second woman in the house, Donita Fuston, told police she had sold four of her oxycodone pills to Thompson earlier on Friday.

School officials say Thompson has no red flags in her personnel file. Neighbors were also surprised to learn of the arrest.

"The man next door has three kids he puts on the bus everyday so I know he would be really shocked to hear that," Kourtney Overbey told Nashville's News 2.

She added, "You trust these people everyday to get your kids to and from school safely and not to be around that and you just wouldn't expect it."

Thompson is still employed by Metro schools but her bus has been confiscated.  Her route is now being driven by another driver.

School officials said they have reached out to talk to Thompson regarding the charges.
