A new digital billboard at a busy intersection in Brentwood has to turn off its lights.
A zoning board decision allowed the billboard near Corky's Barbecue at the intersection of Old Hickory Boulevard and Franklin Road to go digital.
A judge, however, reversed the decision Monday, saying it violates a health and safety restriction.
The billboard, located a couple feet outside of Brentwood city limits, has been a sore spot for years and after it went digital, the complaints began pouring in.
Metro appealed the zoning board's ruling in court on Monday.
The goal of the appeal was to prevent a precedent from being set that would allow other billboards throughout Nashville to be converted.
A regular billboard that is not digital is still allowed at the intersection.
