NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Crews were on the scene of a multi-vehicle crash involving a dump truck and a car with children inside in south Nashville Thursday morning.
The incident was reported just before 9 a.m. at the intersection of Foster Avenue and Murfreesboro Pike.
Murfreesboro Pike was partially blocked off and drivers were directed around the crash.
According to police, a dump truck collided with a vehicle traveling with six people inside, four of which were children.
The driver of the dump truck told police he was blinded by the sun and didn't see the vehicle.
Firefighters had to cut open a door to get inside the vehicle.
Four people were transported to an area hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries
