Mt. Juliet man accused of raping minor in Van Buren County

SPENCER, Tenn. -

A 23-year-old Mt. Juliet man was indicted Wednesday by the Van Buren County Sheriff's Department for the rape of a minor.

Authorities said the investigation into Brandon Brownell began on July 23 at the Fall Creek Falls Park camping area in Van Buren County, about an hour south of Jackson.

The alleged victim is 5 years old.

Brownell was booked into the Van Buren County jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
