Leonel Lopez Ramos was convicted Tuesday evening of second degree murder.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
A Nashville jury Tuesday evening convicted Leonel Lopez Ramos of second degree murder for the severe beating his girlfriend in the bar where she worked last year.
Anna Cruz was working at the Guadalajara Bar on Old Hickory Boulevard on May 3, 2011.
Ramos had moved out that day, and he and his friends were in the bar playing pool.
When Cruz tried to close the bar down early, police said Ramos attacked her.
He punched her in the head, which knocked her down, and then continued to kick her.
Cruz died several days later from injuries sustained in the attack.
Ramos will be sentenced on November 28.
