NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Police say speed was likely a factor in an accident when a driver crashed into several mailboxes and trees in a west Nashville neighborhood Tuesday night.
The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. in the 7400 block of Charlotte Pike between Sawyer Brown Road and Old Hickory Boulevard.
Officers told Nashville's News 2 the driver lost control of the vehicle before going off the side of the road. The driver then reportedly hit four mailboxes and two trees before his vehicle came to a stop.
Police said the man was being treated for a very serious leg injury.
The victim's name was not immediately released.
The investigation is ongoing.
