Crash blocks I-40 in Cheatham County

CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. -

A crash has the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 blocked in Cheatham County on Tuesday night.

The accident was reported around 7:40 p.m. at the Kingston Springs Road exit at mile marker 188.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is diverting motorists to alternate routes.

The roadway is expected to be cleared by 11 p.m.

Officials said westbound lanes are affected with rubbernecking delays.

It was not immediately known if anyone was injured in the crash.

No additional information was released.
