Vigil held for missing Bedford County children

A candlelight vigil was held on Sunday night for two children now missing after a deadly fire in Bedford County.

Nine-year-old Chloie Leverette and her brother, seven-year-old Gage Daniel, were first thought to have died in a house fire with their grandparents, Molly and Leon McClaran Sr. two weeks ago.

Investigators never found their remains and issued an Amber Alert.

"Thinking of the kids being in the house really affected a lot of people," Pastor Ronnie Grooms of Rover Baptist Church told Nashville's News 2, "Now to realize that maybe they may not have been in the fire so we don't know."

The McClarans and their grandchildren attended Rover Baptist Church.

"We're just here tonight to try and bring some healing to a lot of hurting people," Grooms said of Sunday's prayer vigil.

With very little information and few answers, family members and the community are leaning on one another for support and holding out hope for Chloie and Gage.

"We're praying for all those that are involved, those that are looking, doing the investigating, but most of all for our community," said Grooms.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information on Chloie's and Gage's whereabouts is urged to call the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
