NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Good Morning America's weather anchor Sam Champion announced on Friday that he and his partner are engaged to be married.

According to ABC News, Champion and his boyfriend Rubem Robierb met through mutual friends several years ago.

Robierb, a native of Brazil, works as a fine arts photographer.

Champion and Robierb plan to wed later this year.
