TBI 'Most Wanted' suspect surrenders at mother's home

NEW TAZEWELL, Tenn. (AP) - A former city policeman who was a TBI Ten Most Wanted fugitive has turned himself in after two months of living in the East Tennessee woods.

Claiborne County Sheriff David Ray told The Knoxville News Sentinel Michael Shane Baker surrendered at his mother's house early Monday.

Baker was indicted by a Campbell County grand jury on 22 counts of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and 22 charges of soliciting a minor for the purpose of sexual exploitation.

The former LaFollette city officer is charged with enticing a Georgia girl to send him sexually oriented photos of herself.

An assistant prosecutor said authorities don't believe Baker ever met the girl in person.

Ray said Baker had little to eat and had been hallucinating.
