Nashville couple charged with rape of teen sisters
44-year-old Rodney Robinson
33-year-old Demetria Robinson
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Metro police Thursday night arrested a husband and wife at their Ewingdale Drive home on a multi-count Davidson County grand jury indictment that accuses them of sexually abusing two teenage sisters on multiple occasions since 2010.
Rodney Robinson, 44, and Demetria Robinson, 33, are each named in a total of 25 criminal counts charging the offenses rape, rape of a child, aggravated sexual battery, sexual battery by an authority figure and child abuse.
Police said the alleged victims, who are now 15, had been in the Robinson household for a number of years.
They were placed in the custody of a blood relative shortly after the March initiation of the investigation, which centered on an allegation of physical abuse involving one of the teens.
Police said the sexual abuse allegations are on the part of Rodney Robinson.
Demetria Robinson is alleged to have known what was taking place, but did nothing about it.
A criminal court judge set Rodney Robinson's bond at $250,000. Demetria Robinson is being held in lieu of $150,000 bond.
