COVINGTON, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities say a Covington man has been charged with murder in the death of an 18-year-old whose body was found along a rural road.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Thursday that 21-year-old Daniel Farrow faces charges of murder, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse in the death of James Jones Jr.
Jones was last seen alive Tuesday night at a gas station in Covington. Authorities said Jones' car was found nearby with evidence of foul play inside.
Jones' body was found Wednesday during an intensive search. The TBI says Farrow shot Jones in the head, put the body in Jones' vehicle and dumped the body in a field.
Farrow was booked into Tipton County's jail. Court records do not indicate if Farrow has a lawyer.
