Ky. woman dies after being shot with crossbow

OWENTON, Ky. (AP) - Police say a Kentucky woman is dead after she apparently accidently shot herself with a crossbow.

Police said 59-year-old Yvetta Reffitt of Martin was hunting Sunday morning on a farm in Owen County. She was supposed to meet a group of friends for lunch, but didn't show up.

Police say other members of her hunting party then began looking for her and found her dead.

A preliminary investigation found the cause of death to be the crossbow shot coupled with pre-existing medical conditions.
