Mt. Juliet votes to reinstate city fire department

MT. JULIET, Tenn. -

On Monday night, Mt. Juliet officials voted to reinstate a city fire department.

Since 1986 the city, which is made up of 25,000 residents, has relied on and been protected by county emergency workers.

City officials hope to have a new fire chief in place by January and the new fire department up and running by July 2013.
