NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Country crooner Dierks Bentley hosted the sixth annual Academy of Country Music Honors on Monday night at the Ryman Auditorium.
Hundreds of fans lined up outside the historic auditorium in an attempt to catch a glimpse of their favorite artists as they arrived on the red carpet.
Monday night's show honored country artists Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, Emmylou Harris, in addition to other musicians, engineers and promoters.
Ricky Skaags received the Pioneer Award.
"This is pretty awesome. I've won Grammys and a lot of ACM Awards, CMA Awards and bluegrass awards, but this is the first time I've really, what I consider an honor for I guess being an innovator in the early 80s,"
The event kicked off at 7 p.m. and included performances by Kellie Pickler and Hunter Hayes among others.
